Why is Nature Play so important?

Children generate positive emotions when they are immersed in our natural environment. And for us as educators (no matter what age group you work with), observing children being curious about their environment and learning brings great joy and satisfaction!


Through nature pedagogy children become connected with and contribute to their world along with becoming socially responsible and showing and understanding the importance of respect for the environment.


As an educator you can provide children with access to a range of natural materials in their environment; for example bringing the outside in with natural play resources, or creating engaging play spaces outside and beyond the gates. How could this look in your service? Take a moment to get creative!! Here are a few ideas to help you get creative...
